The words say one thing. The photographs suggest another. The design belongs to an earlier chapter. Creative direction helps those pieces tell the same story.
Cliff Standard is an independent studio in Oak Cliff, Dallas, founded by brothers Doug and Grant Klembara. We bring strategy, writing, photography, and design into the same conversation—starting with what makes your business distinctive.
Before choosing a typeface or planning a photograph, we ask what people should understand about your business. Your audience, priorities, and existing work help establish a direction. That gives the creative decisions something concrete to answer to.
02 / Words & images
Make it feel like you.
Writing should sound like the people behind the business. Photography should help someone understand the people, place, or work. We look at what you already have, what tells the story well, and where new material could help.
03 / Design
Give every choice a purpose.
Type, color, imagery, and page structure work best when they belong together. For a website design or redesign, that means turning the direction into pages you can see and respond to, then refining the details around the story.
Bring the unfinished pieces
A fresh perspective helps.
Maybe you know exactly what feels wrong. Maybe the business has changed and the way you present it hasn’t caught up. Share a few references, rough notes, or your current website. We’ll start there.
It connects the message, images, and design that shape a website. We discuss the amount of strategy, writing, photography, and design your project needs when defining the scope.
Can you work with our existing identity?
Yes. We start by reviewing your branding and materials. A fresh direction can build on what is already right; any additional brand work is discussed as part of the scope.
What should we bring to the first conversation?
Your current website, a few examples, and an idea of what you want to change are useful. A polished presentation isn’t necessary. Questions and rough notes are a good start.
